For My Dad

You tried to live a simple life.
You tried to mind your business.
You made some hard decisions.
You made our lives good.

You always told us to dream.
Said we could do anything.
Now we're grown we see
Why you did some things you did

You worked 3 jobs at once.
You worked til your bones hurt.
Mom let us stay up til you got home.
I hope that made your day.

You live your simple life.
In your house with your first wife.
10 kids call you grandpa.
They adore you.

You'll always teach them to dream.
Tell them they can do anything.
And when they're grown they'll see
A man who left a legacy.
